The indoor heated pool is 20 metres by 9 metres gently falling from a depth of 0.75 metres to 1.83 metres. The size and depth of the pool means that a qualified lifeguard must always be on the poolside when it is in use.
We try and maintain the water temperature at a very pleasant 29°-30°C which is warmer than most leisure centres and should ensure that you are quite comfortable during your swim.
If you are here for a residential conference, a swim in the pool is included in the cost of your stay. A session should be booked by residential groups in advance of their stay and a lifeguard will be provided. Please contact the office as soon as possible to ensure that you are not disappointed. It works on a first come first served basis.
Groups and organizations can book the pool by contacting us. This is ideal for pool parties, youth groups, swimming clubs etc. Groups can provide their own qualified lifeguard. If this is not possible we will try to book a lifeguard for you.
Please note that if you use your own lifeguard they MUST have a relevant and current qualification e.g. Bronze Medallion or NPLQ. We will need to see any certification or evidence of the relevant qualification before the booking can be confirmed.
For anyone hiring the pool privately, we must receive your payment in advance of your booking and any groups making a block booking must sign up to our swimming pool terms & conditions before the booking will be accepted.
There are a number of swimming clubs that use our pool to provide swimming lessons mainly for children. If you would like to know more please click on this link and contact one of the clubs named directly.
Public Swimming Sessions:
We open the pool at various times during the week for adult public swims. These sessions are subject to change on a seasonal basis and also demand so please contact us to make sure that a particular session is still running.
Please note the swimming pool is not open to the public or available for private hire on a Sunday or on any bank holiday.
